So, what is the “Ouch, You’re on my Hair” Podcast and Radio Show? Well, glad you asked. The two co-hosts Randy Helms and Troy Nelson have been friends for well over 35 years and can basically finish each other’s sentences. Their back-n-forth banter has the feel as if you just know these guys, as long as they have known each other. Not one episode goes by that these two do not crack a bunch of jokes and talk about their times as teenagers listening to the music they still love. Even though Randy is in Virginia and Troy in Oklahoma, you will swear these two are back in their hometown of Brunswick, Georgia, hanging out and cruising around the block.

The podcast centers on 80s Metal, Album Orientated Rock (AOR), Glam, and anything else mullet-related. The podcast does pay homage to those classic rock bands who started it all, as well as look at today’s new sounds of Rock-n-Roll.

With the success of showcasing new and upcoming bands on the podcast, the boys decided in July 2018 to add an additional show each week, simply entitled the Radio Show. Every Thursday, Randy brings a new playlist, which only features music and the occasional interview with one of the bands featured. The Radio Show, allows the opportunity for more bands played each week and in return the opportunity for exposure to a larger audience around the world. Everyone from record labels, promotion companies and public relations groups have jumped on board to provide music by bands they support, to allow for maximum exposure.

“Ouch, You’re on my Hair” has consistently ranked in the top 3 for their category on Podomatic. In fact, Week 26 of 2017, they ranked #1 for all music-based podcasts on Podomatic, wh w.ich currently houses over 2 million podcasts.
