Radio Shaker has a large selection of Hard Rock radio stations. Hard Rock music is known for its earsplitting sound and therefore also tagged as heavy metal. This overwhelming genre started in the sixties, at first as a heavier form of blues, rock & roll and psychedelic rock. Later, in the seventies powerful guitar riffs, long solos and distorted amplifiers alienated the music from its bluesy roots. In the early days hard rock music had some swing in back beat as played by bands as The Rolling Stones. Heavy metal had no swing at all and just focused noisy guitars and pounding rhythms. Playing as loud as possible.
